Lockport High School has once again become involved in the Trig-Star Competition. Trig-Star is a an annual high school mathematics competition based on the practices applications of trigonometry. Brian Skalman PLS, President of the Niagara Frontier Land Surveyors Association, the sponsor of the competition, gave a presentation to students on how trigonometry is used solve land surveying and mapping problems. The test was administered on April 30 and cash prizes were awarded to the top three students. Earning first place was sophomore Antonio Faraci, second place, sophomore Jessi Zheng and third place, senior Matthew Deeks. Faraci will now move on to the state level.
