JOED VIERA/STAFF PHOTOGRAPHER- Middleport, NY- Julie Maedl demonstrates how one of Middleport United Methodist Church's two newly installed lift operates. One lift was installed to assist disabled members enter the sanctuary and another to assist them in getting to the bathroom and around the church. The church's board of trustees has been working on the project for over two decades. The lifts were built with funds bequithed to the church by Ralph and Helen Mead. To see the new lifts in action you can visit the church during their monthly community meals held on the third wednesday of each month.
